❤This jumbo smoked ayilo is 3 to 4 times the size of the medium smoked ayilo. Besides giving a mouthwatering aroma and taste, it also smells and tastes smokey. Its texture is smooth and dusty. It is also known as bentonite clay. There have been reports of some people consuming it to relieve diarrhea, nausea, upset stomachs, and morning sickness. Note however, there is no FDA regulation over this product, and these "testimonies" are unreliable. Therefore consuming ayilo must be at your own risk since it contains some minerals that may or may not be beneficial to your health.
❤ Ayilo has also been used in facial masks to treat eczema, acne, and psoriasis among some people and, has also been reported to have anti-aging properties. However, before using bentonite clay or any natural remedy on the skin, do a skin test for allergies. Again these are not approved by trustworthy authorizations like the FDA for such benefits.
❤NOTE: Ghana Clays is not responsible for the effects or side effects of consuming this product. Nevertheless, when consuming ayilo, it is advised to do so in moderation, drink lots of water, and eat fruits and vegetables. Doing this, will help flush the clay from the digestive tract and prevent constipation.
❤STORAGE: To store ayilo or any flavorful clays, keep them away from scented objects like soaps, perfumes, etc., to avoid messing up their smoky, earthy flavor. If you carry them in your bags when going out, air them out by leaving them out in an open space when you return in other to maintain the original flavor of the clays. Also, wrap them in plain paper(avoid scented ones) like a newspaper to keep them earthy.
❤Here are some additional facts about Ayilo:
-No two sellers have the same taste of Ayilo Clay. Ayilo absorbs other flavors quite easily, so depending on how it has been smoked, stored, and shipped, its flavor can vary from seller to seller.
-This particular ayilo clay was made from Abidjan Clay sourced from Accra, Ghana. Therefore depending on the type of clay used for the ayilo, its taste and texture may differ.
-Lastly, Some types of ayilo tastes very smoky, whiles others taste less smoky. Some also are less gritty, whereas others are not.
